The newest Russian missiles "Burevestnik" and "Oreshnik" perform different combat missions, which is a significant difference between them. This was stated by military expert, Captain of the First Rank (Retired) Vasily Dandykin.
He reminded that "Oreshnik" is a hypersonic operational-tactical missile, while "Burevestnik" is a strategic cruise missile with a nuclear engine.
"Oreshnik" and "Burevestnik" simply have different tasks. "Oreshnik" is an operational-tactical missile with the maximum possible range, while "Burevestnik" is a strategic missile with unlimited time in the air.
Dandykin added that "Burevestnik" is capable of staying in the air for a long time, maneuvering at low altitudes, and remaining practically invulnerable to any air defense systems.
The Captain of the First Rank draws an analogy between a nuclear icebreaker with a power plant when talking about "Burevestnik".
It's like a nuclear icebreaker that can sail the sea for years without refueling. The principle is the same here - fuel consumption is minimal, and the range is unlimited. This is the uniqueness of the new Russian missile.
As a reminder,"Pervy Tekhnicheskiy" compared the "Burevestnik" and "Oreshnik" missiles. In relation to them, one canapply the expression "has no analogues". It also became known that in the case of "Oreshnik", the launchers were evendeployed outside of Russia.
