The Russian company "SpetsAtomResource" has completed the delivery of more than 50 asynchronous electric motors for the El-Dabaa NPP under construction in Egypt. The units are intended for equipping critical systems of the nuclear power plant.
The electric motors comply with safety class 3 and are suitable for systems responsible for the safe shutdown and cooldown of the reactor (the process of cooling a nuclear reactor to a temperature that allows for repairs and maintenance). The Russian equipment will be installed in the electric pump units of power units No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 of the NPP. These pumps ensure coolant circulation and emergency cooling.
"SpetsAtomResource" is a Moscow-based company that carries out engineering projects for nuclear power facilities. Its specialists develop and modernize thermal-mechanical equipment for nuclear power plants. The company is not part of the "Rosatom" state corporation.
The construction of the El-Dabaa NPP began in 2022. It involves the construction of four power units with VVER-1200 reactors. The station will be commissioned in 2028. The project is being implemented under the control of Rosatom.
