A new hangar complex will be built in the Sverdlovsk region, where domestic MC-21 passenger aircraft will be serviced. It will cost 10 billion rubles, according to the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Denis Pasler.

According to him, the airline "Ural Airlines" will participate in the project.

Plans for the implementation of a large-scale project, which the entire Russian aviation industry needs, were discussed with the General Director of the airline, Kirill Sergeevich Skuratov.

The area of the new complex will be about 15 thousand m², of which 8 thousand will be occupied by the main hangar, and 6 - warehouses for storing equipment and spare parts.

In the future, it is also planned to place a simulator for MC-21 pilots in the Urals. Pilots will be trained there for all airlines in the country.

The head of the state corporation "Rostec", Sergey Chemezov, noted that the certification of the MC-21 will be completed at the end of 2026, after which two serial airliners will be launched into production. When the conveyor production of aircraft will be established is unknown.

At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, stated that the import-substituted version of the MC-21-310 will take to the air as early as October 2025. There is exactly one week left until the end of this period.
