AvtoVAZ expects the passenger car market in Russia to grow to 1.5 million vehicles in 2026. The company's head, Maxim Sokolov, stated that production volumes could increase by 15-20% compared to the planned figures for 2025.
The main plans, I would even say hopes, are connected with the fact that next year both inflation and, as a result, the key rate will be significantly lower, the market will revive, and will reach parameters of about 1.5 million new cars in the country as a whole. And, accordingly, we expect to take a worthy share to ensure growth within 15-20% in relation to the production volumes of the current year.
AvtoVAZ's production plan for 2025 is just over 320,000 cars, but it is assumed that next year this figure will reach 400,000 units. Sokolov added that this value has not yet been approved by the board of directors.
In September, top manager Sokolov announced a reduction in Lada production plans to 300,000 cars for 2025, while initially the company planned to produce 500,000 cars. The reason is the drop in sales, in January-September 2025 they fell by 24.9%, reaching 237,706 thousand units, and the brand's market share was 26.5%.
