VOR 2700/DME/N2700 Radio Beacon from Rostec Installed at Mirny Airport in Yakutia

Navigation system operates at wind speeds up to 50 m/s

Specialists from "Azimuth" company (part of Rostec Group) have developed a complex of radio navigation equipment VOR 2700/DME/N2700 (azimuthal, range measuring). It was installed at Mirny Airport to ensure the safety of aircraft during landing in difficult weather conditions. This was reported by the state corporation's press service.

The development will ensure stable air communication between the city and the mainland all year round. It allows to accurately determine the location of the aircraft and is recommended by ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) as the main means of navigation.

Equipment from "Azimuth" is also used in other regions of the Far North. Radio beacons have been installed at airports in the Chukotka, Yamal-Nenets and Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrugs.
