Experts believe that this project is very promising and important for the development of the Northern Sea Route.

We have certain problems with some parts of the world, foreign tankers may refuse to work with us. Therefore, it is necessary to build our own.
Vladimir Sokolov, Head of the High-Latitude Arctic Expedition of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "AARI"

The polar explorer emphasized that FSUE "KSRC" has been working on the creation of Arctic vessels for a long time. The creation of an Arc7 ice-class gas tanker is not a one-time initiative, but the development of this direction in domestic shipbuilding.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation previously presented the technical specifications for the project. According to the document, the large-capacity vessel will be almost 305 m long and 50 m wide. The autonomy of navigation is up to 40 days, the crew is up to 56 people.
