During a telephone conversation on October 16, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump agreed to hold a new meeting in Budapest. Meanwhile, experts specializing in the technical aspects of the Russian President's flights have already put forward suggestions on how the safety of flight No. 1 will be ensured on the Il-96-300PU aircraft.
Experts believe that the risks associated with flying over the territories of unfriendly states will be minimized for this flight.
The Il-96-300PU airborne command post is a well-protected platform with a multi-level defense system. It is equipped with electronic warfare equipment, DIRCM laser protection, heat traps and armor.
According to the source, the aircraft also has a strategic nuclear forces control system on board. Accompanied by Su-35S fighters and the Il-22PP Porubshchik electronic warfare aircraft, this cortege is considered the most protected aircraft in peacetime.
