Губернаторы регионов выступают за увеличение транспортного налога

Bills to raise the tax have been submitted to the parliaments of the Novosibirsk, Orenburg regions and the Krasnoyarsk Territory

The governors of the Novosibirsk and Orenburg regions, as well as the Krasnoyarsk Territory, have submitted bills to their regional parliaments aimed at increasing the transport tax. The reason for the decision is related to the desire to ensure additional revenues to the budgets of the regions. The governors are confident that the proposed changes will improve the financial situation in these regions.

In particular, it is assumed that the consolidated budget of the Novosibirsk region will receive an additional 219.6 million rubles after the increase in the transport tax. For the Krasnoyarsk Territory, similar forecasts amount to 334.8 million rubles. These funds are planned to be directed to the implementation of social and infrastructure programs, which, in turn, may contribute to improving the quality of life of local residents.

The Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Mikhail Kotyukov, emphasizes that the increase in the transport tax is justified, since over the past decades the per capita income of the population has doubled, and the transport tax rates in the region remain low.

The head of the municipal ratings department of ACRA, Ilya Tsypkin, reported that in 2024, 215.5 billion rubles of transport tax were collected throughout Russia, which looks insignificant in the total volume. He believes that the increase in rates will not affect the deterioration of fee collection. At the same time, the president of the Petersburg Politics Foundation, Mikhail Vinogradov, expressed the opinion that such growth may cause irritation among citizens.
