In major Russian cities, management companies (MCs) of apartment buildings have begun to contact manufacturers of electronic warfare (EW) equipment with requests to provide protection against drones. This was stated by Natalia Kotlyar, Deputy Director for Business Development at JSC "SRI "Vector"", on the sidelines of the ExpoUAV forum.
According to her, such requests most often come from the Leningrad and Moscow regions. Residents of high-rise buildings are ready to "chip in 100–500 rubles from each apartment" to purchase protective systems, Kotlyar added.
JSC "SRI "Vector"" is a developer and manufacturer of systems for detecting, monitoring, and neutralizing UAVs of various types. The research institute has created such EW systems as "Zashchita" and "Serp".
What do legislators think about the participation of management companies?
Natalia Kosikhina, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, stated that there is no need for the mediation of management companies yet. In addition, it is impossible to predict how such work will be carried out, the senator emphasized.
The authorities of our country are solving these issues, protecting citizens, and excessive fuss can only harm.
In 2025, the demand for property insurance against falling drones increased in Russia. Insurance companies include damage from the arrival of a UAV or its debris in the list of insured events. At the same time, separate policies have appeared that cover these risks.
