Lada Iskra продаётся без ажиотажа: спрос остаётся умеренным

There is a deferred interest, especially in cars in the top configuration

Sales of the new Lada Iskra are slow but steady. Two months after the start of sales, demand remains moderate — there is no hype, as was the case with the release of Lada Vesta in 2015. Nevertheless, there is a deferred interest, especially in the top Techno configuration with a manual gearbox in the Sedan and SW Cross versions. This is reported by RCI News.

Sales began on July 20 only in three cities — Tolyatti, Moscow and St. Petersburg. The first production cars appeared at dealers only in mid-September. According to open data, about 12 cars have already been sold, although in fact there may be slightly more.

There are a limited number of production cars in dealerships: in the "Central Station" in Tolyatti, for example, there are only three cars for sale, including one copy with a CVT. The planned volume of shipments per dealer is only 3–4 cars per month.

Initially, AvtoVAZ planned to produce up to 20 thousand Lada Iskra cars by the end of 2025, of which 3–4 thousand should be St. Petersburg assembly. Now it is assumed that about 12 thousand cars will be sold by the end of the year, and mass sales of the new family will begin only from March 2026.

The reasons for the slow start are the practice of releasing "raw" models, which is common for the automotive industry, with subsequent refinement in special areas, weak demand against the background of high credit rates: limited capabilities of domestic suppliers of auto components with small production volumes.
