Russia is developing quantum sensors that will increase the accuracy of determining mineral deposits underground by tenfold. A roadmap for the project is currently being developed, which will create unique, more compact, faster, and environmentally friendly devices.
Such devices, for example, can be of great benefit in geological exploration: the sensitivity of quantum sensors will allow detecting the slightest anomalies in the Earth's gravitational field, which can determine the presence of minerals in such places. The accuracy of determining oil underground can increase tenfold.
According to the scientist, scientific projects dedicated to quantum sensors are already being implemented in Russia. There are several promising developments - up to ten different types of such devices can be counted, which are at different stages of readiness and will be useful.
Quantum sensors can also be used in navigation, logistics, medicine, and materials synthesis.
