Tests of the "Jason" mini-submarine of project 03660 will start in 2025. This was announced by the President of the National Research Center "Kurchatov Institute", scientific director of the nuclear transport technology complex, Vasily Ustinov.
The underwater vehicle is capable of diving to a depth of up to 2.25 kilometers.
We must first try at shallow depths, check the interaction of all systems and equipment in system operation. There are no such civilian means in Russia, and in the world - scientific devices go down and "rest", and this is for constant work.
The underwater manned vehicle is designed to service offshore main gas pipelines and perform underwater work. The crew of the "Jason" mini-submarine will consist of two people - a pilot and a technical specialist. A constructive feature of the device is a transparent cabin with a 270-degree view.
Next year, it is also planned to start manufacturing a remotely operated vehicle. It will work with the "Jason" mini-submarine both independently and in conjunction. Joint work will allow to carry out almost any actions necessary for the development of fields and localization of accidents.
