AvtoVAZ has temporarily suspended the development of the turbo version of the Lada Azimut crossover due to internal difficulties. Insider KhaDM reported that the problems are related to the transition to a four-day work week, stocks of unsold Lada Aura, and delays in the launch of Lada Iskra. This is a temporary suspension of work.
The turbo engine hasn't gone anywhere
According to him, development has already begun, and the engines are ready for testing. The turbo engine will be an in-line 16-valve 4-cylinder engine with a timing chain drive, capable of developing about 150 hp and 200 N·m.
Despite the current difficulties, work on atmospheric engines with a volume of 1.6 and 1.8 liters continues without failures. The team working on them was not transferred to a four-day week.
