Belarus intends to seriously participate in aircraft construction programs in Russia, and it has capabilities in the industry. This was stated by the head of the Belarusian presidential administration, Dmitry Krutoy.
He recalled that a program for components for aircraft construction and loading of two main aircraft repair plants — in Baranovichi and near Minsk — was signed at the government level.
Today we are working with the governors of the Ulyanovsk region and Tatarstan. They are also deeply immersed in these issues. We see an annual multiple growth, and we are already drawing up our investment plans in Belarus and building entire production workshops and lines to meet the demand of the Russian market.
Krutoy noted that even if Western brands return after the lifting of sanctions, the topic of aircraft construction will remain key for Russia.
And to refine the localization of our own aircraft, whether it is the MC-21, Tu-214 or Il-76 - these are the main models we are working on today - it will never give up. And we must participate and be seriously represented in the program that they have adopted.
The Belarusian side will be able to take advantage of Russian developments, which will help in the development of local production.
