Astrophysicist Vyacheslav Avdeev reassured people who are afraid of magnetic storms. In his opinion, they do not harm human health.
The scientist explained that humans do not have organs that perceive the magnetic field. Avdeev believes that magnetic storms can affect health to a minor extent.
A headache can be caused by many reasons, and the Sun and our magnetosphere are not to blame here.
According to him, magnetic fields can affect a person in an MRI machine. However, during this procedure, the patient does not even feel them. Avdeev added that this effect on a person is much stronger than during a magnetic storm.
The astrophysicist noted that magnetic storms are dangerous not for humans, but for infrastructure. There is a risk of man-made disasters that can lead to serious consequences.
