Photos of a serious accident involving a Lada Vesta car that occurred on the highway have appeared online. According to preliminary information, the car's steering wheel jammed at speed, causing it to veer onto the shoulder and subsequently flip three times.
The airbags also did not deploy, and the ERA-GLONASS emergency call system proved ineffective. The Lada dealer refused to call a tow truck until the car was standing on all four wheels on the ground. As a result, passing motorists called an ambulance and the police.
A girl was driving the car. She suffered severe spinal injuries and is preparing for surgery.
As a reminder, at the end of August this year, AvtoVAZ launched a service campaign for owners of Lada Vesta cars affected by the steering wheel locking problem.
