MegaFon Launches Free Internet for Russian Tourists in China

A 1 GB traffic package allows the use of services blocked in China

Mobile operator MegaFon has launched an offer for subscribers traveling to China: they will receive 12 hours of free mobile internet with a volume of 1 GB. The service is available to all individuals — MegaFon subscribers, and is activated automatically upon the first connection to the network in China.

The countdown starts not from the moment of crossing the border, but from the first time you access the Internet. The package allows you to use services blocked in China, such as messengers, video platforms, cloud storage and online cinemas, including offline content. When connecting to local Wi-Fi, these resources may not be available. MegaFon's roaming bypasses restrictions without additional settings. The offer is valid until the end of November 2025.

The flow of Russian tourists to China is growing: since September 15, 2025, after the introduction of a visa-free regime for 30 days, the number of trips has increased by 5% compared to the previous week. In 2025, the number of Russians who visited the country increased by 30% compared to 2024. The test visa-free period will last until September 14, 2026.

Commercial Director of MegaFon Dmitry Rudskikh noted that the service will help subscribers navigate the area and stay connected.
