The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has begun temporarily blocking the phone numbers of account owners who rent them out. The decision is aimed at combating fraud.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs is carrying out measures to temporarily suspend the provision of communication services to owners of subscriber numbers registered for rented accounts.
According to representatives of the press service, such accounts are usually used in complex multi-component fraudulent schemes. In them, attackers act on behalf of various organizations.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs said that fraudsters may have access to the infrastructure that provides temporary access to messenger accounts.
