State Duma deputy Igor Antropenko proposed increasing the fine for violating the rules of movement on electric scooters with children under seven years old to 10 thousand rubles.
The amendments are planned to be introduced for the second reading of the senators' bill on fines for electric scooter drivers. Earlier, the bill, submitted to the State Duma in April 2024 and adopted in the first reading in July, provided for a fine of up to 5 thousand rubles for a similar violation.
Such a fine will not stop all electric scooter owners. But for general safety, to protect those around them, scooter riders and their children, I consider it appropriate to increase the amount by at least two times
The deputy noted that according to current rules, adults are allowed to transport children under seven years old on personal mobility devices only with a child seat, and a child under seven years old can move independently only under the supervision of adults in pedestrian zones, parks or on special playgrounds.
