No plans to ban power bank transportation on airplanes in Russia

Previously, Yakutia Airlines banned the transportation of power banks on its flights

Introducing restrictions on the transportation of power banks on airplanes in Russia is premature. This was stated by the head of Rosaviatsiya, Dmitry Yadrov.

This issue is not on the agency's agenda right now. There were two cases with Russian airlines: both were thoroughly analyzed, and the power banks were sent for examination. Based on this, a decision was made that it is premature to introduce industry-wide restrictions from our side.

Earlier, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Vladimir Poteshkin also reported that Russia is not yet planning to tighten the rules for the transportation of power banks on airplanes. However, this issue is being worked on. The issue of tightening the rules also concerns Rosaviatsiya.

Yakutia Airlines has banned the transportation of portable chargers (power banks) on luggage racks in passenger airplanes. This rule came into effect on September 18, 2025.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Rosaviatsiya lifted restrictions on aircraft engines for the MC-21-310 and Il-114-300.
