Sollers Starts Production of Pickup Frames in Ulyanovsk

Sollers continues to actively localize the production of cars based on JAC models. The production of frames for Sollers ST6 and ST8 pickups has started in Ulyanovsk. This is an important step for strengthening the company's position in the market.

About 200 million rubles were invested in the launch of the new production line. The new facilities allow producing up to 10.5 thousand frames per year, which significantly increases the plant's production capacity.

The technological process includes punching holes, welding spars, and final assembly, but stamped elements still come from China. It is important to note that Ulyanovsk already has a production line for frames for Sollers Argo trucks with a volume of up to 11.5 thousand sets per year.

In recent months, the plant has also mastered the full cycle of assembly of Sollers ST6 and ST8 pickups, including welding and painting of bodies. The production of transfer cases for Sollers pickups and UAZ SUVs has been established in Zavolzhye, and the launch of crankcase production is planned in the future. At the same time, the range of six-speed manual transmissions is expanding, which will improve the characteristics of cars.

The Sollers ST6 pickup is a version of the Chinese JAC T6 adapted for the Russian market, released in 2015. Previously, the model was assembled in Vladivostok, but now production has been moved to the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. Technically, the pickup repeats the JAC T6, which is built on the basis of the Toyota Hilux, with a frame and front suspension unified with the Land Cruiser Prado. The ST8 pickup is also based on the same platform, which emphasizes Sollers' strategy of using proven technologies and components to create reliable and high-quality cars.
