The keel-laying of the lead nuclear submarine cruiser K-572 "Perm" took place on July 29, 2016, in Severodvinsk.

The project was developed at the St. Petersburg Marine Engineering Bureau "Malachite".

The cruiser "Perm" was rolled out of the SMP boathouse on March 27, 2025. At the ceremony, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that "Perm" became the first multi-purpose submarine in the country armed with hypersonic cruise missiles "Zircon".

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the frigate "Admiral Golovko" launched a hypersonic "Zircon" in the Barents Sea based on targeting data from a Tu-142.
