Rumors in the media about the closure of the development program for the A-100 "Premier" airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft have not yet received official confirmation. Moreover, the approximate date of the "radar on wings" release has become known.
The authors of the "Technosphere Russia" publication noted that the A-100 will not begin mass production until 2027-2028, but probably later.
The refinement of the machine is influenced by real combat experience, which has caused delays in the timing.
If before 2022, when the latest Premier radio engineering complex was first turned on on the A-100, the Russian Aerospace Forces had only relatively modern combat experience, now many completely different inputs have been received.
Aviation expert Alexei Zakharov explained the objective reasons for delaying the project. In his opinion, the problem with the supply of complex technical components can still be circumvented with a great desire. According to his information, problems are more likely for the developer of the onboard radar complex (RTC) for the A-100 — the Vega concern.
Earlier www1.ru reported that footage of the flight of the X-101 strategic missile for the Tu-160 and Tu-95MS has appeared.
