Rumors in the media about the closure of the development program for the A-100 "Premier" airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft have not yet received official confirmation. Moreover, the approximate release date of the "radar on wings" has become known.
The authors of the "Technosphere Russia" publication noted that the A-100 will not be launched into serial production until 2027-2028, but probably later.
The refinement of the machine is influenced by real combat experience, which has caused delays in the timeline.
If before 2022, when the latest Premier radio-technical complex was first activated on the A-100, the Russian Aerospace Forces had only relatively modern combat experience, now many completely different inputs have been received.
Aviation expert Alexey Zakharov explained the objective reasons for the project's delay. In his opinion, the problem with the supply of complex technical components can still be circumvented with a strong desire. According to his information, the developer of the airborne radar complex (RTC) for the A-100, the Vega concern, is more likely to have problems.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that footage of the flight of the X-101 strategic missile for the Tu-160 and Tu-95MS has appeared.
