During the West-2025 exercises, Russian two-seat Su-30SM fighters used bombs with universal planning and correction modules (UMPC) for the first time.
The crews of the naval aviation of the Baltic Fleet successfully used Kh-31A anti-ship missiles and gliding bombs. It is reported that naval targets were hit. Su-30SM fighters and Su-24M bombers were involved in the exercise.
UMPC turns free-fall bombs into high-precision ammunition. After being dropped, the UMPC wings open, and the munition flies to the target according to the data of navigation systems. Various aerial bombs are equipped with planning modules, including FAB-1500 high-explosive bombs, which carry 670 kilograms of explosives.
