Tu-22M3 long-range bombers carried out a bombing strike against a mock enemy

Combat use was carried out from a height of about 1 km

The crews of the Tu-22M3 long-range bombers of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of the Russian Federation launched an air strike with the performance of practical bombing, destroying objects at one of the training grounds during the strategic exercise "Zapad-2025".

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation clarified that the long-range aviation pilots played out an episode of an air strike against a mock enemy. The purpose of the maneuver is to destroy critical facilities and disrupt control systems.

The Tu-22M3 crews acted in pairs during the air strike. Combat use was carried out from a height of approximately 1 km.

The peculiarity of the Tu-22M3 is the ability to use 4-Mach Kh-22 cruise missiles from low-altitude modes, which significantly reduces the temporary "window" for tying tracks by radar systems of anti-aircraft missile systems of the enemy.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the "Oreshnik" missile turned out to be lighter than "Yars": it will fly to the target from near space.
