The machine park of "NEFAZ", a subsidiary of PJSC "KAMAZ" in Bashkortostan, has been replenished with modern equipment for processing small diameter pipes. As part of the project "Development of production facilities for the production of passenger buses at PJSC "NEFAZ" up to 3 thousand units per year" and localization of the manufacture of components at its own production, new machines were purchased, which will significantly improve production processes.
One of the key acquisitions was an automatic pipe bending machine with numerical control (CNC), designed for bending pipes both to the right and to the left. The equipment was purchased from one of the largest foreign manufacturers of semi-automatic and automatic equipment and installed in the mechanical assembly shop No. 6.
With its help, products with complex geometry will be manufactured, including tubes with soldered tips, such as power steering tubes, fuel system and cooling system for passenger transport. Previously, these components were purchased from third-party suppliers, but now their production will be established directly at the site of the Neftekamsk Automobile Plant.
Svyatoslav Fomin, Deputy Chief Technologist for Production Preparation, noted that the equipment was selected from six different companies that provided commercial offers for pipe bending machines with a diameter of up to 32 mm. The selected machine fully met the necessary requirements of the technical specifications.
We are already familiar with the products of this manufacturer: a machine for bending pipes with a diameter of up to 76 mm was previously purchased. So this simplified the development of new equipment and subsequent work on it.
In addition to the new pipe bender, a machine for pre-assembly of cutting rings will be used in the production process. Their joint use will ensure a complete cycle of manufacturing parts for power steering tubes, fuel system and cooling system, which is an important step in the production of passenger equipment.
The upgrade of the technology park with new equipment will not only increase the independence of PJSC "NEFAZ" from third-party organizations, but also allow unloading other pipe bending machines. This will lead to improved production performance and reduced costs.
