Self-cleaning hydrocyclone developed by scientists from Nizhny Novgorod

The system automatically eliminates clogging of the sand nozzle without external energy consumption

Specialists from the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after R. E. Alekseev have developed a device for wastewater treatment and suspension separation. This invention solves an important problem in this area, providing automatic cleaning without the need for external energy consumption.

The invention, developed by a team of authors under the leadership of Dikov Vadim Alexandrovich and Dikov Timofey Denisovich, is an improved hydrocyclone - a device widely used in the chemical, food and other industries for separating suspensions under the action of centrifugal forces.
press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation

The ministry emphasized that the key advantage of the new hydrocyclone model is the self-cleaning system, which automatically removes clogging of the sand nozzle without the use of external energy. This is achieved through an innovative design that includes a special plate located in the area of pressure from the suspension jet exiting the nozzle.

The development eliminates one of the most common problems when using hydrocyclones - clogging of the sand nozzle. The uniqueness of the device lies in the absence of the need for external energy supply or constant supervision by the operator, which significantly increases the reliability of its operation and reduces operating costs.
