A modification of the Russian Shilka-M4 self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) has been spotted in the Vietnamese army. The combat vehicle received a digital fire control system and an electro-optical air situation monitoring system.
The Vietnamese modification is a conceptual analogue of the domestic Shilka-M4 SAM system, but with a more modern multispectral optoelectronic guidance module and a centimeter radar complex (RLK).
Target detection range - up to 20 km. The firing range of guns is up to 2.5 km, missiles - up to 5.5 km.
Bispectral infrared homing heads (IRGSH) 9E410 of these anti-aircraft guided missiles (SAMs), operating in the short- and mid-wave ranges, have high noise immunity. This ensures effective selection of heat-contrast targets even against the background of active use of IR traps.
