Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) announced that the project to revive the "Volga" model is being implemented by "Passenger Car Production" JSC.
The plant's press service emphasized that this company operates as an independent legal entity and is not part of the "GAZ Group".
Earlier, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov stated that the assembly and production of the new "Volga" could begin by the spring of 2026. He did not specify whether a Chinese partner would be involved in the project.
Earlier, the Telegram channel "Russian Automobile" reported that the new "Volga" project, which previously failed for AvtoVAZ, is now being developed jointly with the Chinese company Geely.
