The Chinese ZTZ-201 tank, resembling the Russian T-14 Armata, which was spotted at the parade in Beijing, was created taking into account the combat experience of the Russian military. This was stated by military expert Viktor Baranets.
According to him, the ZTZ-201 can be called a "thinking" tank. Among the advantages of the Chinese product, Baranets highlighted a powerful active protection system not only against shells and missiles, but also against strike drones.
Optical sensors integrated into the hull and turret give the crew, located in a "capsule" separate from the ammunition, a complete overview of the situation on the battlefield, including the sky. The Chinese clearly took into account our experience in using tanks.
Baranets added that the Chinese side took "all the best features in world tank building," but abandoned fashionable trends.
Equipped with a hybrid engine, the ZTZ-201 turned out to be more maneuverable and lighter than modern Western combat vehicles, and its 105-mm gun is distinguished by an increased ammunition load and high armor penetration.
