2S3 Acacia self-propelled artillery units (SAU) have been adapted to use the latest Krasnopol guided projectiles, according to military expert Yevgeny Damantsev.
According to him, the 28-caliber gun of the Acacia does not provide the possibility of counter-battery combat against Western guns with a length of 52 calibers, but it is sufficient for using Krasnopol and Krasnopol-M2 projectiles at a distance of 18 and 20 km, respectively.
At the same time, the circular probable deviation of the projectiles does not exceed one meter.
The Orlan-30 UAVs provide illumination to the semi-active laser homing head (seeker) of the Krasnopol-M/2. The accuracy of the Krasnopol on the battlefield is ensured by adjusting the laser beam reflected from the target.
