According to the source, the project was discussed between White House officials as part of a possible deal that could result from a meeting between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.

Ahead of the summit in Anchorage on August 15, The Daily Telegraph reported that the US wants to offer Russia a joint development of raw material deposits in Alaska.

The "Arkhangelsk REB flota" successfully raised the icebreaker "Avraamiy Zavenyagin" of project 1191 to the slip, which in February 2025 joined the fleet of the Murmansk branch of FSUE "Rosmorport."
