Specialists of JSC "RIR Energo" have completed 65% of the work to replace the turbine unit at the Tambov CHP plant. The work is being carried out as part of the program to modernize generating capacities.
A new 130 MW domestically produced turbine will replace a unit that has been in operation at the plant for 42 years. After the modernization is completed, the total capacity of the CHP plant will increase by 20 MW. Currently, the installation of metal structures at the site is almost complete. High-voltage tests of the generator stator have been successfully carried out and the rotor has been installed. Work on the installation of the turbine flow path is nearing completion.
It is planned to complete the installation of temporary circuits for pumping oil pipelines and elements of the control system by the end of August. After analyzing the oil quality, specialists will begin the first stage of commissioning works.
JSC "Rosatom Infrastructure Solutions" is implementing similar modernization projects at other facilities as well. Work is underway at the Smolensk CHP plant and the Seversk CHP plant in the Tomsk region. These measures are aimed at improving the reliability of power supply to consumers and key enterprises in the regions.
