The biometric fare payment system has been launched at all turnstiles on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya and Kalininskaya lines of the Moscow Metro. This was announced on June 5 by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport, Maxim Liksutov. The service is now available on 480 turnstiles on these lines.
Previously, face payment was only available at two or three turnstiles at each station. The full connection of all turnstiles on these lines allows passengers to pass through faster and avoid queues at equipped terminals.
According to Liksutov, the service is already functioning at all turnstiles on 11 metro lines. It is planned that biometric payment will be implemented on all equipment for passage in the Moscow Metro by the end of 2025.
Nowhere in the world does biometric payment work on such a scale as in the capital. The service is already available at all turnstiles on 11 metro lines, and by the end of 2025 we will connect it to all equipment for passage in the metro. This will allow passengers to pay for travel as comfortably and quickly as possible.
The biometric payment service allows you to pay for travel without using a card or phone. In addition to the metro, the technology works on the MCC, "Aeroexpress", some river transport routes and MCD stations. The cost of one trip with this payment method is 63 rubles.
