In mid-autumn, UAZ cars will begin to be equipped with modified ZMZ Pro (ZMZ-PRO) engines. According to the Rossiyskaya Gazeta, bench tests of the new unit are continuing at the Zavolzhsky branch of the Sollers Product Development Center.
We are talking about a 2.7-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 150 hp. The designers increased the number of attachment points around the perimeter of the valve cover and between the spark plug well openings. This solution increases the tightness of the structure, improves the operation of the valve mechanism and increases the reliability of the engine as a whole. Assembly control and operational accuracy are ensured by digital high-precision processing lines.
According to sources, the updated engines will be installed on new UAZ models — Patriot, Pickup and Profi, as well as on the classic Hunter. The completion of the test program is expected in September of this year.
The modernization of the engines is aimed at increasing the durability of the equipment and optimizing the operation of power units, which will have a positive impact on the operation of cars in various conditions.
