The creation and launch of the automatic interplanetary station "Venera-D" is planned as part of the national project for space exploration. The preliminary design of this mission will start in January 2026, simultaneously with the launch of the national project itself.
The money has already been allocated. "Venera-D" is included in the "Space" national project - this issue has already been resolved at the government level.
According to the scientist, the preliminary design will begin in January, simultaneously with the start of the national project. It is planned to complete the preliminary project within two years. Currently, organizational issues are being discussed with NPO Lavochkin to ensure maximum efficiency, and several meetings have already been held.
The launch date will be specified after the completion of the preliminary design, but definitely within the current planning period, no later than 2036. It's been a very long time since we "said goodbye" to Venus.
The Venera-D mission will include a landing module, an aerostat probe, and an orbital vehicle. According to the scientific director of IKI, Academician Lev Zeleny, announced in the spring, the launch is planned for no earlier than 2034-2035.
