The Rutube video hosting team has introduced an update that allows users to support creators financially. In the new version of the Android application, it is now possible to make donations not only during live streams but also under each video or on the channel page. This was reported by the press service of Gazprom-Media Holding.
Rutube Product Director Nika Kurasova noted that if a creator has a connected wallet, they can activate the donation function in the "Channel Settings" — "Donations" section. The developers have simplified the management of donations during live streams by gathering all settings in one place. If the creator does not yet have a wallet, they will be prompted to go through the connection process via the web version of "Studio."
To start receiving donations, the creator needs to verify their identity through "Gosuslugi" and link a wallet. The funds go directly to them and can be withdrawn to a bank card or phone account. All transactions are processed through an official payment partner, and the commission for Rutube creators is 10%.
It is worth recalling that in October 2024, donations for creators during live broadcasts appeared on the platform. Now the "Support" button is available under all videos and on channel pages, making the process of supporting creators more convenient for viewers.
