A unique exhibit is presented at the exhibition of urban special equipment in Luzhniki: the SPM-575A tracked armored fire engine with a high degree of protection.
In 2016, the Omsk Transport Machine-Building Plant supplied the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation with the first two special fire engines (SPM) created on the basis of T-72 and T-80 tanks.
Engineers at "Omskmash" have created a unique fire engine capable of effectively fighting fire and conducting rescue operations in particularly dangerous conditions. It is designed to extinguish fires in warehouses of explosives and ammunition, as well as to lay firebreaks and clear paths during forest fires. A special feature of the vehicle is the use of components from Russian T-72 and T-80 tanks, which ensures high cross-country ability and reliable crew protection thanks to the armored hull. The vehicle, weighing up to 60 tons, is equipped with 25 cubic meters of fire extinguishing agents with a delivery range of up to 100 meters. The crew consists of three people.
