On the afternoon of August 14, the frigate of project 22350 "Admiral Amelko" was launched at the "Northern Shipyard" (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, USC) in St. Petersburg.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Navy (Navy) Alexander Moiseev noted that the frigate is capable of solving the entire range of tasks inherent in a multi-purpose ship, both in the near and far sea zone.
Currently, three frigates of project 22350 are already serving in the Northern Fleet — "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov", "Admiral Kasatonov" and "Admiral Golovko".
Multi-purpose frigates of project 22350 are carriers of modern sea-based missile weapons, including "Kalibr" cruise missiles and the latest "Zircon" hypersonic complex.
Other weapons of the frigate are the "Poliment-Redut" anti-aircraft missile system, the "Paket-NK" anti-submarine torpedo complex, and an artillery installation. A Ka-27 helicopter can be based on the ship.
