SCF TM (a subsidiary of Sovcomflot Group) has developed software for maintaining electronic logbooks. The software has received a Type Approval Certificate, according to the press service of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS).
The new software performs the following functions:
- automated data collection from ship systems
- manual data entry and correction
- record approval control (including using electronic signatures)
- data transfer to the company office
- audit log maintenance
- backup
- data export and printing
- offline version of the logbook
The transition to electronic logs reduces the time spent by the crew and ensures full traceability of all changes.
The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping previously presented requirements for software for maintaining ship logs in electronic form. The rules comply with international standards.
The ship's logbook is a document that records all events that occur during navigation. This includes weather conditions, course, and location of the ship. The logbook has legal force, so the entries in it can be used as evidence in court proceedings.
