Ships of the Russian Navy and the Chinese Navy have formed a detachment and entered the Sea of Japan for joint patrols in the Asia-Pacific Region (APR), the Pacific Fleet's press service reported.
The group includes the large anti-submarine ship (ASW) Admiral Tributs (Project 1155) and the destroyer Shaoxing. The main tasks of their crews are to maintain peace and stability in the APR and protect the facilities of Russia's and China's maritime economic activities.
Russian and Chinese sailors will traditionally practice maneuvering and interaction during joint exercises
Joint patrols have been conducted annually since 2021. Previously, the Admiral Tributs was involved in the Russian-Chinese Sea Interaction exercises.
Project 1155 ships are equipped with radar, missile, tactical strike weapons, and anti-aircraft artillery. They carry the Kinzhal naval SAM system, AK-100, and AK-630 systems.
