The locomotive is equipped with a domestic asynchronous traction motor and features a high carrying capacity, which is 42% higher than that of its predecessors.

The "Orlets" is capable of hauling up to 7,100 tons in a two-section configuration and up to 9,000 tons in a three-section configuration. The weight of the electric locomotive is 200 tons, and the maximum speed reaches 120 km/h. The locomotive's power is 8000 kW.

The modular design of the systems allows one driver to effectively service the locomotive. The optimized life cycle includes only one major overhaul. This reduces operating costs.

Earlier www1.ru reported that modern electric locomotives 2EP21/22 will be developed in 2026.
