The network has published footage of a model of the latest S-500 "Prometheus" anti-aircraft missile system (SAM). In the photos, you can see the device of the system in detail.
The S-500 "Prometheus" SAM system was developed by the Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defense Concern; the complex is designed to destroy any air and space attack weapons in the entire range of speeds and altitudes.
The training of military personnel to work on the "Prometheus" has been ongoing since 2017. The S-500 replaces the S-400 "Triumph" SAM system on combat duty.
Characteristics of the S-500 "Prometheus" SAM System:
- Maximum target engagement altitude — 200 km
- Maximum speed of the target being hit — 7 km/s
- Target detection range — 800 km
- Combat radius — 600 km
- Number of missiles — 2-4 units
