Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that from September 1, all carsharing users in the capital will have to undergo verification through the Mos ID system.
Previously, verification was already used for couriers and electric scooter renters and allowed to reduce accidents by 60% since the beginning of the season.
The new measure will increase security: the service will be able to restrict access to those who frequently violate traffic rules, and law enforcement agencies will be able to quickly identify drivers in the event of incidents.
The verification procedure will take a minimum of time and is carried out online through an account on mos.ru.
Carsharing in Moscow is one of the largest in the world, with more than 150 thousand trips made daily, which helps to reduce the number of personal cars.
