The "Remvooruzheniye" holding (part of Rostec) has mastered the overhaul of large-caliber "Kord" machine guns. The project made it possible to solve the problem of repairing popular weapons supplied from other countries and Russian counterparts, the state corporation said.
Currently, all key processes, from diagnostics to final tests, are implemented within the framework of the state defense order at the company's site.
Remvooruzheniye developed a repair and testing methodology from scratch, trained personnel and repaired the first batch of weapons, which successfully passed qualification tests.
During the tests, the machine guns confirmed the stable operation of the mechanisms and compliance with the requirements of the repair documentation. The repaired weapon fully meets all the characteristics and is able to perform combat missions.
The "Kord" machine gun is designed to engage firing points, light armored vehicles and manpower at distances up to 2 km, as well as to combat air targets up to 1.5 km.
Until recently, similar weapons came from foreign production. Now the company has fully mastered their repair, which helps to meet the needs within the framework of the state defense order on its own.
