Мокрый, но не лизинг: Эфиопия отказалась передать России самолёты Boeing и Airbus

Ethiopian Airlines itself is facing a shortage of aircraft

Ethiopia has not entered into an agreement with Russia to transfer Boeing and Airbus aircraft on a wet lease basis. The carrier Ethiopian Airlines itself is facing a shortage of aircraft due to delivery delays and does not plan to transfer equipment to other parties, the company's CEO Mesfin Tassew said at a press conference.

With his speech, Tassew confirmed that the parties had indeed held negotiations on the wet lease of vessels.

"We ourselves need more aircraft," he noted, emphasizing that leasing aircraft is contrary to the airline's current strategy.

The media reported that a Russian delegation led by trade representative Yaroslav Tarasyuk discussed future cooperation with the leadership of the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA), including the development of repair facilities in Addis Ababa and the supply of navigation equipment.

However, there was no talk of any signed agreements - the parties were only exploring options for interaction. Nevertheless, after the publication of the ECAA statement, a stir began in the media, and the department soon deleted the post about the meeting on social networks.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the rate of delivery of Su-57 fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces has increased.
