Information has appeared online that the crews of the fifth generation Su-57 fighters have begun to use the new low-visibility ammunition C-71K and S-71M. According to data from open sources, the complex is a kind of hybrid of a missile and a drone, and also has high maneuverability, which makes it difficult to track by radars of air defense systems (air defense).
The S-71 was developed at the Sukhoi Design Bureau back in 2019, and it was specially modified for the Su-57 in favor of increasing range and reducing radar signature. For faster mass production, the design of the ammunition was improved.
According to the Tekhnosfera Rossiya publication, the S-71 engine is unified with the serial Kh-101 and Kh-59M missiles with a TRDD-50 turbofan engine.
The maximum flight speed, according to various unconfirmed reports, is from 730 to 950 km/h, the operating altitude is up to 8 km.
The S-71 has two modifications, the S-71M "Monochrome" and the S-71K "Carpet". The first version is equipped with a functional guided air-to-surface missile with a cluster warhead, and the second with a high-explosive cumulative charge. A total of up to four S-71 munitions can be placed in the internal compartment of the Su-57.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the rate of delivery of Su-57 fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces has increased.
