Материалы для новых видов накопителей энергии создали в ФПИ

The materials are characterized by strength, wear resistance and resistance to aggressive environments

The Foundation for Advanced Research (FPI), in collaboration with the Arkhangelsk region, has developed new materials and new types of energy storage devices. This was reported in the press service of the foundation.

In fact, technologies have been created for producing new types of special papers with unique characteristics of strength, wear resistance, and resistance to aggressive environments. These properties are necessary for creating materials in a wide variety of economic sectors — from the production of filter materials to the creation of new types of energy storage devices.

Supercapacitors (capacitors with a double electric layer) are used in portable devices, engine starting boosters, regenerative braking systems, hybrid power sources, and other autonomous power engineering facilities. Among the main advantages of these materials is the ability to charge quickly (seconds versus tens of minutes for batteries), high specific power (10 kW/kg or more), and a lifespan of about 1 million cycles, which is 1000 times higher than that of traditional batteries.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that a Rosatom gigafactory is being built in the Kaliningrad region.
