At the Kashirskaya GRES (Moscow region), the key stage of construction of a new CCGT-900 power unit has been completed — the GTE-170.1 gas turbine has been installed on the foundation. This is the first turbine in Russia officially recognized as innovative power equipment.
The weight of the unit is about 200 tons. The turbine was developed by Power Machines with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the construction is being carried out by Inter RAO — Engineering LLC as part of the state program for the modernization of thermal power.
This is important because the introduction of a domestic innovative turbine reduces dependence on foreign technologies and increases the country's energy security, while simultaneously contributing to the modernization of aging Russian power plants.
