Russian railway workers, despite the hot summer, continue to repair and update track networks. Since the beginning of this year, the Russian railway network has undergone significant updates: more than 2,200 kilometers of tracks have been modernized. Special attention was paid to the Eastern Polygon, where work affected over 600 kilometers.
A large-scale update of railway infrastructure is planned for this year. 3.7 thousand kilometers of tracks will be repaired, a significant part of which (1.1 thousand kilometers) is located in the eastern regions. The necessary materials have been prepared in large quantities for the work, including more than 600 thousand tons of rails, over 2.1 thousand sets of points and crossings, more than 4.5 million sleepers and over 7 million cubic meters of crushed stone.
